MMBA Class Rules 2011
Class 1: Modified Stock
- No body modifications or body swaps allowed, flat beds ok, replacement fiberglass panels ok, no fiberglass race skin bodies, fender trimming for tire clearance only. No gutting interiors can remove carpet or rubber mat, must have O.E. glass, must have a fixed upright windshield.
- Must have a stock factory frame and suspension, lift kits ok, axle swaps allowed in stock location, must have O.E. transfer case to match frame. No coil over shocks or adjustable suspension link bars.
- Uncut D.O.T.tires only, no staggered sizes (1/2 sizes ok i.e.: 36" and 36.5" measured with tire gauge.)
- No internal engine modifications allowed, external modifications ok, no cast or aluminum race heads allowed, no aluminum race blocks allowed. O.E. aluminum heads ok if vehicle was originally manufactured with them. If an engine is questionable a vacuum test will be done. All engines must pull 15" at 800 RPM at full running temperature. Stock internal means Stock internal. If an engine has been changed the new one must have been available for that vehicle in actual O.E.M. production. No engine setback allowed. No upright headers, nitrous, alcohol fuel, blowers, aftermarket turbos or twin turbos.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 2: Super Stock
- No body modifications allowed, body swaps allowed, flatbeds ok, fender trimming for tire clearance only. Must have all O.E. glass, fiberglass replacement panels ok, no fiberglass race skin bodies. Must have a fixed upright windshield. Gutting interiors allowed, no metal removal allowed.
- Must have a factory frame, shortened or lengthened frames must match an O.E. wheelbase for frame manufacturer. Axle swaps allowed in stock location, lift kits allowed suspension type must match frame. Must have an O.E. transfer case to match frame. No coil over shocks or adjustable suspension link bars. Must have drive shaft loops.
- Uncut D.O.T. tires only, no staggered sizes (1/2 sizes ok i.e.: 36" and 36.5" measured with tire gauge.)
- Engine modifications allowed, single carburetor only, no aluminum race blocks, engine swaps allowed, no engine setback allowed. Vehicles with non O.E. engine swap must maintain the same distance from the center of front axle to the face of the transmission bell housing. No nitrous, alcohol fuel, blowers, aftermarket turbos or twin turbos. No mechanical fuel injection systems.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 3: Pro Stock
- Body modifications and swaps allowed, flatbeds ok, fiberglass replacement panels ok. No fiberglass (skin) race bodies allowed. Must have a fixed upright windshield. No shortening or narrowing bodies allowed, driver must sit in O.E. position. Must have a full width floor pan and firewall.
- Must have stock frame rails, cross member modifications ok, spring hanger modifications ok, suspension type must match frame, axle swaps ok, wheelbase must match frame. If frame has been shortened or lengthened it must match an O.E. wheelbase for that frame manufacturer. Engine set back allowed #1 spark plug may be no further back than 6 inches from the center of front axle .Any transfer case allowed, no chain drives. Any adjustable coil over shocks or adjustable suspension link bars must be welded as to no longer be adjustable. Must have drive shaft loops.
- Uncut D.O.T. tires only.
- Engine modifications allowed, single carburetor only, No mechanical fuel injection, nitrous, or alcohol fuel. No blowers or aftermarket turbos.
- All vehicles with removable tops or modified bodies must have a six point roll cage.
- Must have a master disconnect kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 4: 4 & 6 Cylinder Modified
- Body modifications and swaps allowed, flatbeds ok. All removable top vehicles with O.E. bodies must have a 4 point roll bar; all modified bodies must have a 6 point roll cage.
- Must use a factory frame, modifications allowed, must have a transfer case no chain drives. Engine set back allowed; front of harmonic balancer may not be any further back than front axle pinion seal. Any type suspension allowed, axle swaps allowed must have drive shaft loops.
- Uncut D. O. T. tires only
- Engine modifications allowed, single carburetor only. No nitrous, alcohol fuel or blowers allowed. Turbos allowed only if vehicle was manufactured with them as O.E.
- Must have a master disconnect kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 5: Super Pro Stock
- Body modifications allowed, race bodies must be full width. Must resemble a factory body, full width firewall and floor pan required.
- Must use a factory frame, modifications allowed. Engine setback allowed, front of harmonic can be no further back than front axle pinion seal. Any type suspension allowed, any transfer case or chain drive allowed. Must have drive shaft loops and universal guards.
- D.O.T. or Cut D.O.T. tires only
- Engine modifications allowed, dual carburetors ok. No alcohol fuel, nitrous, blowers, or aftermarket turbos.
- All removable top and modified bodies must have a minimum of a 6-point roll cage. Must have a 4-point racing safety harness.
- Must have a master disconnect kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 6: Modified
- Any type body allowed must have a body. Must have a firewall and floor pan.
- Any type frame, suspension, transfer case or chain drive allowed. Engine must be in front of driver. Must have drive shaft loops and universal guards.
- Cut D.O.T. or tractor tires allowed, no paddles or scoop tires allowed.
- Engine modifications allowed, nitrous and alcohol fuel allowed. No blowers or aftermarket turbos allowed.
- All removable top or modified bodies must have a minimum of a 6-point roll cage. Must have a 4-point racing safety harness.
- Must have a master disconnect kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 7: Super Modified
- This class will have a min. total payout of $200 providing there is at least 4 entries in the class.
- Body, frame, engine modifications allowed. Must have a firewall and floor pan.
- Any fuel, nitrous, blowers or turbos allowed.
- Any tires allowed.
- All vehicles must have a minimum of a 6-point roll cage, must have a 4-point racing safety harness.
- Drive shaft loops and universal guards required.
- Must have a master disconnect kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
- Must follow general rules.
Class 8: Full size diesel trucks
- This class will only be run if there is a minimum of 6 entries, otherwise diesels will run with the other classes if the vehicle fits the class requirements.
- No body or frame modifications allowed.
- Uncut D.O.T. tires only
- Drive shaft loops required.
GENERAL RULES FOR DRIVERS
1. All vehicles must pass a tech and safety inspection for the class/classes they are entering before the start of the event.
2. Helmets are required: vehicles with open driver compartments must have a full-face helmet with eye protection, face shield, goggles, or safety glasses (sunglasses are not acceptable) and must be worn by driver and the passenger. Driver and passenger must wear adequate footwear. No bare feet or sandals are allowed
3. The driver and passenger must wear seat belts with shoulder straps. All modified bodies Class 3 thru 7 must have a 4-point harness for driver and passenger.
4. Only one passenger per vehicle.
5. Vehicles must not have any loose objects in cab or bed.
6. A drawing of numbers will be done to determine the order in which drivers will run. A line-up board will be available before the start of each class round.
7. A vehicle may be entered in two different classes. A vehicle may enter twice in a class with two different drivers.
8. No alcohol or drugs permitted. If a driver is observed consuming before they race, they will be disqualified and forfeit all fees.
9. Set-back rule: All drivers will be allowed 2 minutes to get to the staging area after they are called to the starting line. If the driver can not make the call you may have the next pair go then it will be your turn to go.
10. Course boundaries will be marked with stakes. Anyone passing over or beyond them will be disqualified.
11. If there is a technical problem with the timing light system when you take your turn, you will be allowed time to cool down if needed, then you can go again.
12. If you choose to withdraw your registration after the start of your class, we will not be able to refund your entrance fee.
13. All vehicles must be operated in a safe manner while in the parking area, staging, and return lanes, unloading, loading, or in the mud pit. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
14 If you are registered to run an additional class beyond your intended class but do not make any changes to your vehicle i.e. (nitrous, cut tires) before running in the upper class, you only need to meet the requirements of your primary class.
15. Do not come up to the registration booth to ask for your time while the round is still running. Time sheets will be available after the round is finished.
16. Any protest of a teched truck may be made by another driver in that class. A $100.00 fee will be charged to the protesting driver. If the protest is validated, the fee will be refunded. This protest must be made to a tech man, not at the booth.
17. When vehicles are staging, they can pull through the lights to the orange cones (25’) once. If they repeat, the driver will be disqualified.
18. If you are late to register and your class has already started you will have to register in another class.
19. Once a driver has committed to a vehicle, they must finish that class in that vehicle.
20. Officials word is final! Please no arguments with officials, if arguments take place you will be asked to leave the event and will be caused to forfeit all registration and prize money.
GENERAL RULES FOR RACE VEHICLES
1. Tech inspections will be done from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Racing start time 10:00 A.M.
2. Running vehicles must have a person in the driver’s seat.
3. Fire extinguishers are required in all class 2-7 vehicles and must be a 2.5lb. minimum, with a gauge.
4. All Class 6 and 7 vehicles must have a fire suit.
5. All vehicles must have adequate brakes and must be able to stop at all times; tech men will check and have final say. Pinion brakes are allowed in all classes.
6. All vehicles must have the battery well secured and must be enclosed if it’s in the driver compartment.
7. All Transmissions must have a neutral safety switch including manual trans. clutch pedal interlock.
8. All vehicles class 2 thru 7 with modified engines must have a transmission shield. They are highly recommended in class 8.
9.. All vehicles must have side window glass, acrylic windows, window nets or arm restraints for driver and passenger
10.. Nitrous bottles must have the line unhooked or the bottle removed if the vehicle is in a class that the use is not allowed.
11. All nitrous equipped vehicles must have a 1/4 turn shut-off valve within the driver’s reach while seat-belted in.
12. Fuel injected vehicles with mechanical pumps must have a fuel shut-off cable within reach of the driver while seat-belted in.
13. Vehicles using alcohol fuel must have an onboard fire suppression system.
14. Drivers of alcohol fuel vehicles must have an S.F.I. fire suite, gloves and boots.
15. If drivers or passengers are exposed to radiators, then the radiator must be shielded. If any rubber radiator hoses pass through the passenger compartment, they must also be shielded.
16. All removable-top vehicles in class 1 and 2 must have a 4-point roll bar. Light bars are not acceptable. All removable-top vehicles in classes 3-7 and modified bodies must have a 6 -point cage. Tech men will have the final say.
RULE DEFINITIONS:
NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH- A switch that is designed to prevent the starting of a vehicle while in gear.
MASTER KILL SWITCH- A switch mounted on the rear of a vehicle that must kill all power, including engine, and all solenoid switches.
DRIVE SHAFT LOOPS- Must have at least one loop centered on each shaft. NO chain-type loops allowed.
UNIVERSAL GUARDS- Must completely surround u-joints and be minimum 1/8” thickness steel or 1/4” aluminum, or S.F.I. approved material.
- If it is found necessary to adjust or add rules during the race season they will not be put in affect until they can be posted before a race event.
